Back in October of 2016 I picked up Tolula from dealership in San Jose, CA and things have never been quite the same. Originally I had looked at Sprinters, Econolines and even entertained the idea of buying a Westy for a couple months but ultimately purchased this Ford Transit-150. It was on a trip to Sequoia National Park with my friend Andy that I named the van Tolula. Initially the name started off as a joke but by the end of the trip it had stuck and now I own a van named Tolula.

Converting the van was fun, frustrating and one of the most amazing learning experiences I've had to date. After purchasing the van in October of 2016 I spent the next couple of months building the van while I worked full time at Borrowlenses. For the most part the van was built after work and on the weekends when the weather wasn't too bad. Since a large part of the conversion was done during the winter many times I would plan entire weeks around when I would be able to build the van. In total I spent approximately $4,500 converting the van with the most expensive item being a $1,500 solar kit from Renogy.
